An Atlanta Burger Institution, Grindhouse Killer Burgers looked to expand their burger empire on the busy Memorial Drive Corridor in Grant Park, Atlanta. The trick was providing an amazing outdoor patio that wouldn’t be drowned out by the noise of the traffic below. SOGO Principal Leslie Ellsworth was up to the task. Her design incorporates custom-designed, site-cast piers that tower above burger-loving patrons with warm wood stretching overhead. Adorned with vintage, explosion-proof lighting, this patio cover can be seen 1/2 a mile away, but the real treat is hanging out underneath at the indoor-outdoor bar that stretches some 30 feet. The patio is slightly raised and wrapped in a hollow block wall to help dampen the traffic noise and create a fun space for humans and pups, alike.
