AIA Georgia 2023 Merit Award Recipient
Nestled in the heart of Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, this classic 1920’s craftsman bungalow received a modern-style addition providing the homeowners with some much-needed space in which to retreat, to entertain, and to enjoy.
Though a departure from the existing home’s style, the addition’s modern lines respond to the existing both in scale and massing. It also acts as a connection physically and visually to what was once an underutilized, under-accessible backyard. High ceilings, bright, daylit spaces, and rich textures and colors are all brought together to continue the story of the existing home’s rich history, architecture, and interior flare.
