Owners Ben Bailey and Chris Collin sought to bring renewed life to an historic building in the heart of Downtown Monroe, GA. This 6,000 SF structure features a unique barrel truss that allows enough height for tall windows to flood the space with natural light. In keeping with the site’s industrial history, raw materials like steel, OSB, concrete, CMU block, and corrugated metal are cleverly deployed as finishes throughout the space.
Two shipping containers become both a bar and unique booth seating for guests in the dining room. In an otherwise neutral palette, a trio of bold brand colors, red, blue, and yellow race across the floor, walls, and ceiling.
A secondary space at the rear of the building services guests for private parties and additional dining. Here, the same industrial materials are celebrated and enhanced with the Strange Taco brand colors. Do you like to party?
Yellow! bathrooms are detailed with a blue “racing stripe,” vintage sconces and sinks, as well as full sheet glass mirrors. Behind the scenes, a large kitchen, walk-in-cooler, and office space support the daily operations of a successful restaurant business.
